Turbosquid trying to act smart.

In recent times Turbosquid is trying to sell their shit in an attractive way. Checkmate certification is an absolute non-sense that has created a new headache for buyers on TS. There are lot of quality models without checkmate certification, and lot of crap with checkmate certification. Above all the most annoying thing is that price is more than double for a model that is low in quality compared to others, only nonsense is, it has got checkmate certification. Also no chargeback for these models.

Fixing price for a model must be within artists freeedom. There are few vendors who call themselves Master artist (they are the shit on TS) , who never sleep and rest upon others success, and TS is their puppet. They are the one who expect thousand dollars for their everyday sh**. It is because of these greedy heads threatened TS, and TS in act of desperation to save themselves introduced Checkmate - an absolute nonsense.

All I like to say is TS is coating sugar on shit and gift wrapping it before selling to customers. There are lot of quality models out there, lots of sites dealing with 3D and 2D. better search before buying.

Never Ending Story

We have decided to stop scrutinizing the works of 3D Artists on this blog. This blog has caused much uproar, and recieved lot of email requests - some to continue, some to stop. We don't have anything personal with Turbosquid or any 3D Marketplace, or with any of the artists on those sites. We are an independent group of artists, and we started this blog based on the analysis, survey, experiences of large group of 3D artists selling 3D models. Out of all the points we chose to include in this blog, one thing stood out - the way the 3D artist is respected by 3D Marketplace and fellow artists. We gathered lot of info on various sites and started compiling. TurboSquid forums influenced much of the previous posts.

All those posted here are just an example, if we continue further it will be page after page and will be a never ending story. Turbosquid is one of the best sites for selling and buying 3D assets, no doubt about that. We just wanted to point out what some of the top sellers do, and to secure thier sales what they do to new artists or who is at the starting level of SquidGuild. Most of these top sellers we talk about try to create a suspicion on artists and his models if  its competing with their products. Most of the accusations and blatant statements they make seem to be untrue most of the times, and Turbosquid trying to protect and support such artists is the most appalling of all.

We hope things will change for good.

Will this artist get Checkmate Certification?

Turbosquid seems to be acting in desperation, its making its next move by bringing in Checkmate Certification which is good way to eliminate undercutters, but will these artists and these models get checkmate certification.

Artist:

this artist is at emerald level, so that means he has earned $3000+ of which TS would have earned around 50%.

most of  his models were from Dosch Transport 2010 collection + Evermotion Arch models vol 55

Trusted Rater who cant be Trusted anymore

Trusted Rater on Turbosquid is an absolute nonsense, some of the top selling artists form a group and exchange ratings among themselves. Most ridiculous part is these raters give 1star rating for a competing product by other artists (Mostly for new artists), the same product rated with 5 stars by the buyers of that model.  They try to eliminate them from competition by giving them low rating, accusing them as undercutters, above all accusing thier works to be stolen whenever the model is low priced.

These group call themselves as master artists, but what they do is all low and mean. They are the group who want $200 even for a lowpoly car, which you can get for at the average of $15 from other artists and 3d stores.

River that is polluted

Hi all,

Little intresting find again, Its possible for 3d artist to copy ideas from other, any  3d artist can model an elephant, a horse and models by different artists can look similar. But one major aspect stands different, almost by 99%. Is there a possibility that wireframes by two different artists look the same, not at all unless its a standard primitive objects provided in the 3d application.

Here we go.

This artist named 3DRivers have published many horse models which has the same wireframe as DAZ Millenium Horse.

He has got lots of horse published. all of them are the same mesh with different textures.

here are the few links where you can see his wireframe, which shows that the model source is DAZ

http://www.turbosquid.com/3d-models/black-horse-3d-max/460406

http://www.turbosquid.com/3d-models/chestnut-horse-3d-model/499879

http://www.turbosquid.com/3d-models/3ds-bay-horse/499876
these are wireframes published by 3drivers.

wireframe by 3d rivers from

There is no chance that wireframes match exactly for two different artists. Most interesting thing is that he has worked out the wireframes near the stomach area which looks different, but watch the wireframes closely on head, it is the same. He has worked out the flow of segments in the stomach area without losing UVW mapping, which can be done easily.

alll his horse has the same mesh with different textures. what is your conclusion?

Evidence sent to Turobosquid

stolen Model on from: http://www.archidom.net/ddd/mod_drive2.htm

model by PerspectX
http://www.turbosquid.com/3d-models/isuzu-delivery-truck-3d-model/420514
http://www.turbosquid.com/3d-models/3ds-pre-rigged-delivery-truck-rigged/449607

Many of the models by this artist is from free collection simply rigged and
being sold here. I sent this to TS support a month ago. But TS said no copyrights infringed. Here is the proof of infringement.

Web Archive says model was published on Jun 30 2006 on http://www.archidom.net/.

For your ref here is the link that shows when the model was published :
http://web.archive.org/web/*/http://www.archidom.net/ddd/models/zipCAR1/ISUZU%20FORWARD%20V(Insulated%20van)%20'98.max.ZIP

But artist PerspectX have published his products on Sep 12 2008 and Mar 9 2009.

and moreover to hide the polygon count PerspectX has give some random values
for Polygons and vertices on this model

http://www.turbosquid.com/3d-models/isuzu-delivery-truck-3d-model/420514

It is clear that PerspectX has stolen this model from the site mentioned.

Not only this model by PerspectX, not only by this artist, many diamond artist on TS have done this. I am going to expose all this one by one. This will be my last mail to TS support, hence forth I will publish all the
publishing violations on all 3d Forums out there.

The above content was sent as support ticket to TS on Oct 27, But TS havent replied on this yet. Why?
Where is thier TERMS and CONDITIONS have gone now?

Another perspective of PerspectX

Two more products from PerspectX

http://www.turbosquid.com/3d-models/isuzu-delivery-truck-3d-model/420514
http://www.turbosquid.com/3d-models/3ds-pre-rigged-delivery-truck-rigged/449607
Wireframe of delivery truck by perspectx

and the funniest thig is he has mentioned Polygons and vertices as 32 and 34. a great model at 32 polygons.

Both these models were from a free site, http://www.archidom.net/ddd/mod_drive2.htm

Its a free download so you can compare it yourself.
TS maintains silence on this one too.
